Michael Jordan was the best basketball player in the world. But he didn't win any championships until he learned to trust his team mates. Two points down in the 1997 NBA Finals with seconds to go everyone wanted him to take the shot, but he had trust in Steve Kerr, a lowly bench boy. Steve Kerr won the game. Because his team mate trusted him.
One of the hardest things to master in improv is trusting yourself and your scene partner. Your ego gets in your way of trusting them, and your inner critic gets in the way of trusting yourself. Scenes only go bad because someone has already decided it has and have started doing panic moves.
We talk a lot about treating your scene partners as geniuses, this session will actually show you how far you can get if you just assume both of you are. Everything you said and did at the start of the scene was great... lets use it.
You'll get game - You'll get character - You'll get relationship - You'll get fun scenes.... you just gotta trust each other.
